After two years of travel restrictions and social distancing, Seven Refractories has held a large-scale international meeting again for the first time since 2020.
Attendance to the meeting showed the intense demand and interest, both on the technical as well as on the managerial side. “Exchanging new ideas and discussing ground-breaking technical concepts or considerable challenges is still best done face to face, however advanced video conferencing tools have become”, maintains Roman Cheglov, Vice President Sales and Technique for Seven Refractories. “The spirit of the meeting and the outcome also underline the importance of aligning our growing organization and of keeping everybody abreast of recent developments. This is how we maintain our cutting-edge technical advantage.”
The meeting site in Istanbul – which was chosen for strategic importance and convenience – therefore saw a large number of participants from all business units. More than 60 managing directors, technicians and specialists, R&D professionals as well as business partners participated in the 2-day event in June. With participants from 18 nationalities and 40 locations, the group gave impressive testimony to the international set-up.
New technological developments, application challenges from various industries, and environmentally friendly solutions were at the heart of the discussions, allowing for joint problem solving and best practice sharing – no wonder that also the conversations during the social programme in the evening centered on the topic most closely to Seven’s heart: refractory solutions.
“It was therefore a heartwarming optimistic signal to see colleagues from so many different cultures united in such a productive way. I love to see this passion and powerness towards our business. This is our strenght”, comments Erik Zobec, Group CEO of Seven Refractories.
